DIANE WILSON

Diane is a ceramic artist working in stoneware, which she throws on the wheel. ‘Most of my work is in porcelain or stoneware. I enjoy the throwing process, usually making domestic ware in simple shapes which fit comfortably in the hands. I often carve into pieces, altering the initial thrown surface with a variety of tools to give differing textures. My use of single colours in glazing is inspired by the vivid colours of the greens of fields and hills, the blues of sea and sky and the soft yellows of the beaches of the Isle of Arran in the early summer.’
